Stone Care International Quartz Clean & Shine is a pH-balanced daily cleaner made specifically for engineered quartz. Grease and residue come away without any harm to the polymer resin holding the slab together.

That binder is exactly why a separate bottle has to exist. Roughly 93% of a quartz slab is crushed natural stone, bound with about 7% resin, and the resin is the fragile half. Harsh cleaners do not attack the mineral; they attack the glue.

Since quartz resists staining, wiping it down really is the entire maintenance programme. Nothing needs sealing, nothing needs waxing, and no annual date goes in the calendar. Choose the right cleaner and the job is finished.

What Damages a Quartz Counter?

Four culprits, and three of them live under the sink.

High-pH cleaners

Bleach, oven cleaner and heavy-duty degreasers wear the resin binder down. Nothing happens overnight, which is why nobody links the dull patch to the spray they have been using every week for a year.

Dish soap, used long-term

Soap harms nothing, but the film it leaves accumulates and takes the edge off the polish. It is the usual reason a quartz counter has stopped looking new, and a proper cleaner puts it right completely.

Abrasives

Steel wool, scouring pads and powder cleansers scuff a polished surface permanently. Anything baked on lifts off with a plastic scraper and leaves no trace.

Wax and polish meant for stone

Wax has nowhere to soak into on quartz, so it sits, thickens and yellows. Keep Cera Fluida and any granite polish off the material, however well they perform on natural stone.

How Do You Clean a Quartz Counter?

Three habits, then the counter minds itself.

Clean as You Go

Because spills stay up on the surface instead of sinking in, a soft cloth deals with almost anything. Staining is not the pressing worry here; how the counter looks between wipes is.

Spray and Wipe Daily

One light spray and a microfiber cloth is the entire routine. Break a long run into sections so the cleaner never dries before the cloth arrives, since that is what leaves streaks across a dark slab.

Use a Plastic Scraper for Dried Residue

Dried food, adhesive and candle wax all come away with a plastic scraper and a little cleaner. Choose the scraper over a scouring pad, because the pad is what does permanent harm.

Can You Use a Granite Cleaner on Quartz?

No. The two are solving different problems.

No. Granite cleaners are formulated for a porous mineral surface, and a good many carry a polish or light wax component meant to enrich natural stone. Put that on quartz and the residue has nowhere to go except upwards, building on the surface.

It works the other way round too. This bottle will do a quartz counter no harm if it lands on granite, but it is not performing a granite product’s job, and sealed natural stone gets less from it than from a dedicated one.

The distinction is easy to miss because both bottles carry the same ₱1,700 price and look nearly identical side by side. Check the label of whichever one you have picked up.

Where one kitchen runs both materials, a layout we see constantly in Kagay-anon homes with a quartz island and granite around the perimeter, buy the pair. It beats years of reaching for whichever bottle is nearest.

Does Quartz Ever Need Sealing?

No. Not once, not ever.

No. A sealer works by filling the pore structure of a quarried stone so liquid cannot travel through it. Engineered quartz is manufactured, so there is nothing for a sealer to fill and it simply dries on top as a film.

The question arrives constantly, almost always because a contractor has told the homeowner that every stone counter must be sealed. That holds for most natural stone and for none of the quartz we sell.

Anybody selling sealer for a quartz counter without first asking what the counter is made of has not done the checking. If you are unsure what you own, the water test decides it: a few drops on an inconspicuous spot, fifteen minutes, then wipe, and quartz will not have darkened underneath.

Wax and polish fall under the same answer. A cleaner is what quartz needs, and that is the complete list.

What This Cleaner Will Not Fix

Three kinds of damage no bottle reverses.

Heat Scorch

A pan lifted straight off the burner burns the resin, and that mark cannot be cleaned or polished away, nor is it covered by any warranty. Heat is the one real weakness of quartz, so trivets are not optional. Granite will not scorch, yet a trivet still earns its place there too, because any stone can crack when the temperature change is sudden and extreme.

UV Yellowing

Long exposure to direct sun shifts quartz permanently towards yellow, which is why it is unsuitable outdoors. Fit blinds wherever a counter catches strong afternoon light.

Scouring Scratches

Abrasive pads flatten the polish and no cleaner restores it. Prevention is the whole remedy, so the scouring pad should never come near the counter.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a granite cleaner on my quartz counter?
No. Granite cleaners suit a porous surface and many include a polish or wax component that has nowhere to go on quartz, so it collects as residue. Reach for a quartz-specific cleaner.

Why can I not just use dish soap?
Soap does quartz no damage, but the film it leaves dulls the polish over months. It is the commonest reason a quartz counter stops looking new, and a proper cleaner undoes it.

Does quartz need sealing?
Never. The material is manufactured, so a sealer has nothing to fill and only dries on top as a film. Cleaning is the whole of the maintenance.

Can I use bleach on a quartz counter?
No. Bleach, oven cleaner and other high-pH products wear the resin binder down over time. The decline is gradual, so the link between the spray and the dull patch is easy to miss.

How do I remove something dried on?
Soften it with cleaner, then lift it off with a plastic scraper. Adhesive, candle wax and dried food all release this way. A scouring pad is never the answer, since it scratches the polish for good.

Will it remove a heat mark?
No. Scorching burns the resin itself, and neither cleaner nor polish reverses that. Trivets are the only defence, and no workmanship warranty covers heat damage.

Can I use it on granite or marble?
It will not harm them, though it is not doing the work a natural stone product does. With both materials in one kitchen, buy both bottles rather than settling for one.
