What Is Paradiso Light Granite?

Paradiso Light is a Chinese granite in pale cream and soft peach, crossed by long gray and charcoal bands that run diagonally over the slab. That movement is the entire character of the stone. It also trades as China Juparana.

The name misleads a great many buyers, because this is not a paler cut of Paradiso Dark. That one is Indian, deep red-brown, finely mottled; this one is Chinese, pale, strongly banded. A trade name is all they have in common.

The banding has a direction, and that carries a practical consequence: the run has to be settled before anyone starts cutting, and the FAQ below covers which way it normally goes.

At ₱3,000 per square meter it sits in the cheaper third of the CDO granite list, and a pan can come off the burner straight onto it, which engineered quartz will not tolerate.

It counts for more here than on a dark stone, since a pale porous granite puts an oil mark on display. Catch cooking oil, butter and salad dressing where they land instead of leaving them until the cooking is done.

Use Only Granite Cleaner

Bleach and the acidic sprays sold for bathrooms strip the seal and bring the next application forward. A pH-neutral stone cleaner lifts grease and leaves what is underneath alone.

Never Scour It

Steel wool, abrasive powders and scouring pads leave permanent scuffs in a polish. A plastic scraper takes off anything dried on without marking it.

How Do You Care for Paradiso Light Granite?

Seal It on Installation

The counter wants sealing once it is in place and the dust has settled. Our crew handles that as part of the fit, and on a stone this pale it is the step that decides whether the first oil spill becomes permanent.

Reseal as Needed

Leave a few drops of water somewhere out of the way on the counter for fifteen minutes. Wipe them off, and a darkened patch underneath means it is due — a wipe-on, wipe-off evening. Once or twice a year is the usual rhythm, and that is a guide rather than a schedule.

Never Sit or Stand on It

Granite is hard, not flexible, so an unsupported overhang can split under someone’s weight. Fetch a step stool instead of climbing onto the counter.

Is Paradiso Light Granite Good for Kitchen Countertops?

Yes. The chemistry is silicate, so acid finds nothing to bite on. Calamansi, vinegar and wine leave the polish exactly as they found it, where a marble would go dull in seconds.

Heat is the clean win over engineered quartz. Nothing inside a granite slab burns, so a pan can travel from burner to counter and will not scorch the surface. A trivet is still worth using, because any stone can crack if the temperature change is sudden and extreme, though one careless moment will not cost you the counter.

Be straight about the combination on offer. Pale and porous is the least forgiving pairing in natural stone, since an oil mark on cream announces itself in a way it never would on Paradiso Dark. Sealed properly, it is perfectly practical in a working kitchen. Neglected, it is the stone most likely to disappoint.

What you get back is the flow. Long banding hands a pale counter movement and depth that a plain white surface cannot offer, and it disguises crumbs better than you would expect.

Does Paradiso Light Granite Need Sealing?

Yes, and on this one it genuinely matters.

Yes. The stone is open enough for oil and wine to seep in, and against a cream ground the patch is obvious. Sealed, it turns both away and behaves like any other easy kitchen surface.

Sealing varies stone by stone and cannot be read off the colour. Absolute Black, Black Galaxy and Tan Brown ask for no sealer at all. This one does, so check the specific stone rather than the shade.

In practice that is one application when we install it, then the water test twice a year at most. Anyone who says granite never needs sealing, without asking which granite, is guessing, and a counter deserves better.

What Colours Go With Paradiso Light Granite?

A warm pale counter with gray running through it.

Cream in the ground and gray in the banding puts this slab between warm and cool, which makes building a CDO scheme around it unusually straightforward.

Cream and warm white cabinetry gives the most natural result, leaving the flow of the bands to carry the interest with nothing else competing for it.

Timber is the obvious partner. Oak and light walnut answer the peach undertone, while the gray banding stops the pairing tipping too yellow.

Gray doors succeed here where they fail against the warmer granites, because the bands give them something to speak to. Nickel and chrome follow the gray, brass follows the cream, and a kitchen looks best when you pick one and hold it.

No, and it is a common mix-up. This stone is Chinese, cream and gray, strongly banded. Paradiso Dark is Indian, deep red-brown and finely mottled. They share a trade name and nothing else, so choose on the slab in our Cagayan de Oro yard rather than on the label.

Which way should the banding run?

Along the length of the counter is the usual call and reads more naturally, though running it across the counter is a legitimate look. Settle it with our CDO team before fabrication, because the slab is cut to that orientation and nothing can be changed afterwards.

Does Paradiso Light granite need sealing?

Yes, and it matters more here than on a dark stone. An oil mark against a cream ground is obvious. We seal on installation; after that, a few drops of water on an inconspicuous spot, twice a year at most, will tell you whether it is due, and you reseal only when the stone darkens underneath.

Can you put a hot pan on Paradiso Light granite?

Yes. Nothing in it can scorch, because no resin holds the slab together, so a pan off the burner leaves neither burn nor discolouration. Thermal shock on a cold slab still argues for a trivet, and this stays granite’s clearest edge over engineered quartz.

Does it stain easily?

Unsealed on a pale ground, yes. Cooking oil is the usual culprit, and the darker patch it leaves can take weeks to draw out with a poultice. Sealed and maintained, it resists staining as well as any other easy kitchen surface.
