What Is Panda White Marble?

Panda White is white marble broken by wide black veining that sweeps, forks and tapers as it crosses the slab. Contrast runs far stronger here than in any Italian white, and that is where the name came from.

Chinese quarries supply it, and what makes the black is a separate mineral, not a deeper tone of the surrounding stone. Sharp edges follow from that, where gray Carrara veining feathers away instead.

No two slabs come close to matching. Black dominates on some and amounts to a single stroke across a mostly white field on others, so tell the CDO team which you are after rather than ordering by name alone.

Specify it where the slab will be looked at rather than worked on: islands, feature walls, vanity tops and splashbacks. Run as a plain working counter, the pattern is arguably wasted.

How Do You Clean Panda White Marble?

Three habits will keep the white ground white.

Keep It Away from Acidic Substances

Calamansi, suka, wine and tomato flatten a polish within minutes. Acid dismantles calcium carbonate, so response time decides the outcome far more than the bottle you reach for.

Use Only Marble-Safe Cleaner

General-purpose sprays are acidic themselves, so they inflict the damage you bought them to prevent. A pH-neutral marble product shifts grease and leaves the polish alone.

Blot Spills and Drips Promptly

A wipe pushes a spill across more of a stone already absorbing it. Press a folded cloth straight down instead, which matters more here than on a darker counter.

How Do You Care for Panda White Marble?

High contrast shows everything, and that cuts both ways.

Reseal as Needed

Wear finishes a sealer off, not the calendar. Leave a little water on a hidden stretch for fifteen minutes and wipe it away; darkening underneath means the slab is drinking and wants another coat.

Always Use Coasters and Trays

At 3 on the Mohs scale, marble loses to the foot of a ceramic mug. Coasters under glasses and a tray under bottles keep rings and small chips off a CDO counter.

Always Use a Cutting Board

Knife steel outranks the stone, so cutting on the counter scores the polish and blunts the blade in one pass. Keep a trivet handy too, because a sudden, extreme temperature change can crack any stone.

Is Panda White Marble Good for Kitchen Countertops?

It works best where the slab is meant to be seen.

Yes, subject to the caveat every marble carries. Acid dulls it, blades score it, and neither outcome is something a sealer can head off.

There is a second consideration particular to this stone. A pattern this assertive is a commitment: it reads beautifully across an island or a splashback, where it becomes the visual centre of the room, and it can feel relentless stretched over four meters of working counter.

Most owners in CDO land on the same layout, putting Panda White where it will be looked at and something quieter where the cooking happens. A black granite such as Absolute Black at ₱4,200 per sqm picks up the veining alongside it without competing, and it is stocked rather than indented.

For a maintenance-free version of the same idea, Nero Calacatta quartz gives bold charcoal veining on white at ₱8,000 per sqm, never etches and never needs sealing, though heat is its weak point so trivets stay compulsory.

Does Panda White Marble Need Sealing?

A sealer answers stains. Nothing answers etching.

Yes. Pores run right through the stone, so oil and pigment sink in rather than sitting on top. An impregnating sealer occupies that structure and buys you time to reach a spill before it becomes a mark.

The white ground deserves particular attention. An oil mark announces itself on white and hides in the black veining, so the visible benefit of a sealer lands on part of the surface rather than all of it.

Let the stone set the timing rather than a date. Drop a little water somewhere out of sight, give it fifteen minutes and wipe it off; darkened stone means it is absorbing and wants sealing. A hard-worked kitchen run can come round as often as every six months while a vanity goes longer, and any interval is a guide only.

A sealed slab still etches, because that reaction involves the marble itself rather than anything soaked into it. Etching and staining are separate faults, both are repairable, and we can arrange either.

What Colors Go With Panda White Marble?

Black and white sets the palette, so keep the room quiet.

The slab already holds the strongest contrast in the room, which means the cabinetry has nothing left to add. Plain white, soft gray and pale timber all work here, because they step back and let the veining carry the interest.

Black cabinetry is the exception worth thinking about. Matching the veining instead of contrasting with it produces a controlled, graphic result, though it needs good lighting or the room turns heavy.

Matte black hardware is the natural fit and chrome the safe one. Brass brings in a warmth that a cool black-and-white palette has no way of supporting.

Leave a patterned splashback out of it altogether. With this slab behind or beside it, anything else carrying a pattern simply argues.

Where does Panda White marble come from?

China. Decades of quarrying and export lie behind it, and feature surfaces across Asia use it heavily. Supply holds steady enough, but vein character moves between blocks, so two orders can look noticeably unalike.

Do the slabs match each other?

No, and the spread is dramatic. A single black stroke on one piece can become a dense network on the next. Where a CDO kitchen takes more than one slab, order them together out of a single block.

Will a sealer stop Panda White from etching?

No. Sealing blocks absorption and that is what prevents staining. Etching is acid reacting with calcium carbonate at the face of the slab, sealed or not. Every marble behaves this way, not just this one.

Is Panda White good for a bathroom?

Yes, and among the best uses for it. Neither acid nor knives reach a vanity or a shower surround, so the slab keeps the face it arrived with. Strong veining also suits a smaller space, where one slab can carry a whole bathroom.

Can Panda White marble be book-matched?

Yes, and the result is striking. Open two consecutive slabs like a book and the black mirrors along the join, reading as a deliberate composition. Ask before cutting starts, since the pair has to be taken from one block in sequence.

Can Panda White marble be used for flooring?

Yes, honed rather than polished. A polished floor turns slippery once wet and displays every scratch that grit underfoot leaves behind. Bear in mind that a bold pattern spread underfoot across a large floor reads very differently from the same pattern on a counter.
