Why Choose Multicolor Red

Hot Pots and Pans Will Not Scorch It Nothing here is bound with resin, so a pan off the burner will not burn the surface the way it would engineered quartz.
Real Movement in the Slab Charcoal banding sweeping over a terracotta ground, which very few granites at this price in CDO can offer.
Hides Daily Use A busy surface swallows crumbs, water marks and the evidence of cooking better than any plain stone.
Quarried, Not Manufactured One block, cut, never blended in a factory, so the geology of its ground travels with every slab.

What Is Multicolor Red Granite?

Terracotta red, swept through with charcoal banding.

Multicolor Red is an Indian granite in a warm terracotta to salmon red, crossed by broad sweeping bands of charcoal and black mineral. Those bands run on the diagonal instead of lying flat, which hands the slab a sense of movement few granites manage.

The trade name promises more than the stone delivers. What you actually get is two tones, warm red against dark gray, with a little pale feldspar wherever the light finds it. Anyone hoping for a genuinely many-coloured slab should look at the material at our CDO yard first.

Because the banding has a direction, there is a practical consequence set out in the cost section below. Nothing matters more than settling that before a saw touches the slab.

₱3,800 per square meter puts it around the middle of our CDO granite range, and unlike engineered quartz it takes a pan straight off the burner and will not scorch.

How Do You Clean Multicolor Red Granite?

Three habits, and a sealed granite looks after itself.

1

Blot Spills and Drips Promptly

Real porosity comes with any natural stone, and cooking oil and red wine are the two things worth catching quickly. A wipe does the job on a sealed counter; what you must not do is leave either standing overnight.

2

Use Only Granite Cleaner

Bleach and acidic bathroom sprays eat into the sealer and bring forward the day you have to redo it. Grease comes off with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and the seal underneath stays intact.

3

Never Scour It

Scouring pads, steel wool and abrasive powder leave permanent scuffing in the polish. Anything dried on lifts away with a plastic scraper and no mark is left behind.

Sealers and cleaners for this stone are on the shelf at our CDO yard, so you are not guessing in a supermarket aisle. Browse the wider stone care range as well.

How Do You Care for Multicolor Red Granite?

One seal, the occasional check, and one thing never to do.

1

Seal It on Installation

Once the counter is in and the dust has settled, it wants sealing. That is part of what we do at installation, and it sets how the stone behaves for years afterwards.

2

Reseal as Needed

Leave a few drops of water on an inconspicuous part of the counter for fifteen minutes, and run that check once or twice a year or any time the stone looks darker where liquid has been sitting. Darkening means reseal, which is a wipe-on, wipe-off evening’s work.

3

Never Sit or Stand on It

Hardness is not flex, and an unsupported overhang can crack under body weight. Fetch a step stool instead of climbing onto the counter.

Is Multicolor Red Granite Good for Kitchen Countertops?

Yes, and it handles heat in a way quartz cannot.

Yes. A silicate rock does not etch, so acid has nothing to work on. Lemon, vinegar and wine leave the polish exactly as they found it, where marble would go dull in seconds.

Heat is where it pulls clearly ahead of engineered quartz. Nothing here is bound with resin, so a pan lifted off the burner will not scorch it. A trivet is still worth using, because any stone can crack if the temperature change is sudden and extreme, but one careless moment will not ruin a counter.

Day to day the busy banding earns its keep. Crumbs, water marks and the evidence of cooking vanish into a surface with this much going on, which makes it one of the more forgiving stones for a kitchen in constant use.

Visually there is a counterweight. A counter patterned this strongly is a commitment and will take over a small room. See a full slab at our CDO yard rather than a sample before you decide.

Does Multicolor Red Granite Need Sealing?

Yes. Do not inherit the answer from another granite.

Yes. There is enough porosity here for oil and wine to work their way in and leave a dark patch behind. Sealed, it turns both away and behaves like any other straightforward surface.

Sealing is a property of the individual stone, and colour predicts nothing at all. Absolute Black, Black Galaxy and Tan Brown are dense enough to go without a sealer entirely, while this one and Paradiso Dark both want one.

In practice that comes down to a single application at installation, then a water test once or twice a year. Treat the interval as a guide and never as a fixed date, and that is the whole commitment a natural stone which takes a hot pan without flinching asks in return.

Multicolor Red vs Our Other Red Granites in Cagayan de Oro

Three reds, and they are not interchangeable.

Multicolor Red is the one with movement

Terracotta red swept through with diagonal charcoal banding at ₱3,800 per sqm. It is the only one of the three carrying a directional pattern, which is why the run has to be agreed before cutting.

Imperial Red is deeper and stiller

Imperial Red brings a richer wine red with coarse black clusters scattered through it and no flow to the pattern at all. More saturated colour, far less movement, sealing required, and at ₱5,000 per sqm in CDO it is the dearer of the two.

Paradiso Dark is the brown-leaning one

Paradiso Dark is ₱4,000 in a deep red-brown with a fine even mottle. Take it when you want warmth without a pattern that announces itself.

Tan Brown skips the sealer entirely

Tan Brown runs darker and cooler, with black and burgundy grain, and it is dense enough to need no sealing whatsoever. At ₱3,500 per sqm in CDO it is the lowest-maintenance choice in this colour family.

What Colours Go With Multicolor Red Granite?

A loud counter needs the kitchen around it to stay quiet.

So much is already happening in this surface that the cabinetry around it should generally stay plain. Flat-front doors in one colour let the stone be the event in the room.

Cream and warm white are the safest partners, lifting the red without setting up a competition. Timber does well too, and oak, teak and narra all share the undertone outright.

Black cabinetry is the braver call and it does work, since the charcoal banding in the slab gives it something to answer. Keep everything else in the kitchen simple if you take that route.

Cool grays and stark whites are the trap. Both fight the terracotta and leave the counter looking dated rather than deliberate. On hardware, brass and antique bronze belong here, where chrome reads cold against the red.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Multicolor Red actually multicoloured?

Not really. The slab is a warm terracotta red crossed by charcoal and black banding, with a little pale feldspar showing through.

More variety is promised by the trade name than the stone delivers, so judge it on the material in front of you at our CDO yard rather than on the name.

Which way should the banding run?

Along the length of the counter is the usual choice and reads more naturally, though running it across is a legitimate look.

Agree the direction with our CDO team before fabrication starts. The slab gets cut to that orientation and nothing can be changed once it has been.

Does Multicolor Red granite need sealing?

Yes. It is porous enough for oil and red wine to penetrate and leave a dark patch.

Seal on installation, then test once or twice a year with a few drops of water on an inconspicuous spot, and reseal only when the stone underneath has darkened.

Can you put a hot pan on Multicolor Red granite?

Yes. There is no resin binder here to scorch, so a pan straight off the burner will not burn or discolour the surface.

Thermal shock on a cold slab is the one thing trivets still guard against, but this is where the material has its real advantage over engineered quartz.

Does Multicolor Red granite stain?

Unsealed, yes. Cooking oil is the usual culprit, and the darker patch it leaves can take weeks to draw out with a poultice.

Sealed and looked after, it resists staining and behaves like any other easy surface.

Does it etch like marble?

No. This is a silicate rock rather than calcium carbonate, so acid never eats into the polish.

Lemon, vinegar and wine all leave the surface as they found it, where a marble would go dull almost at once.

Can Multicolor Red granite be used outdoors?

Yes. Granite holds its colour in full sun where engineered quartz does not, so lanai counters, outdoor kitchens and poolside surfaces all suit it.

Keep the sealing up, since stone outdoors works harder than stone in a kitchen.

Where can you buy Multicolor Red granite in Cagayan de Oro?

Stone Depot, from the Cagayan de Oro yard. A banded stone is worth seeing at full size, because a sample tile shows you one stripe and not the sweep across a slab.

The yard is open Monday to Saturday, 8 AM to 5 PM, or email email@stonedepot.com, and the rest of the granite range in CDO sits on the same floor.
