What Is Gray Honda Granite (G654 Light)?

A dense charcoal grain, fine and completely even.

Gray Honda is a Chinese granite in a mid to dark charcoal, its grain a very fine, tight weave of gray, black and pale mineral. The pieces are small enough that from standing height the slab reads as a single sheet of gray. Its quarry code is G654 (Light), and Black Impala is the same quarry material in its darker grade, sold as G654 (Dark).

This is the dark end of the gray range in CDO. Caesar White and Salt and Pepper put pale grays on a white ground, and this one does the opposite. Take it when gray is meant to anchor a room rather than lighten it.

The grain has no direction, so a slab can be laid whichever way the room wants, and that hands us room to move when we place a seam.

At ₱3,200 per square meter it undercuts Caesar White, though Salt and Pepper remains the cheaper way into a gray CDO counter, and a pan can come off the burner straight onto it, which engineered quartz will not tolerate.

Always Keep the Surface Dry

Dried water marks and limescale stand out on a dark polish in a way they never do on a pale one. Go over it with a damp cloth and then a dry one, and the counter reads clean instead of streaked.

Use Only Granite Cleaner

Bleach and the acidic sprays sold for bathrooms strip the seal and bring the next application forward. A pH-neutral stone cleaner lifts grease and leaves what is underneath alone.

Never Scour It

Steel wool, abrasive powders and scouring pads leave permanent scuffs in a polish. A plastic scraper takes off anything dried on without marking it.

How Do You Care for Gray Honda Granite?

One seal, an occasional check, and one thing never to do.

Seal It on Installation

The counter wants sealing once it is in place and the dust has settled. Our crew handles that as part of the fit, and it decides how the stone behaves for years afterwards.

Reseal as Needed

Leave a few drops of water somewhere out of the way on the counter for fifteen minutes. Wipe them off, and a darkened patch underneath means it is due — a wipe-on, wipe-off evening. Once or twice a year is the usual rhythm, and that is a guide rather than a schedule.

Never Sit or Stand on It

Granite is hard, not flexible, so an unsupported overhang can split under someone’s weight. Fetch a step stool instead of climbing onto the counter.

Is Gray Honda Granite Good for Kitchen Countertops?

Yes, and it takes heat in a way engineered quartz cannot.

Yes. The chemistry is silicate, so acid finds nothing to bite on. Calamansi, vinegar and wine leave the polish exactly as they found it, where a marble would go dull in seconds.

Heat is the clean win over engineered quartz. Nothing inside a granite slab burns, so a pan can travel from burner to counter and will not scorch the surface. Does Gray Honda Granite Need Sealing?

Yes, and being dark makes no difference at all.

Yes. The stone is open enough for oil and wine to seep in and leave a darker patch behind. Sealed, it turns both away and behaves like any other easy kitchen surface.

Colour predicts nothing here. Absolute Black and Black Galaxy are darker than this one and ask for no sealer at all, while Marigold is a light brown granite and also asks for none. Checking the specific stone is the only method that works.

In practice that is one application when we install it, then the water test twice a year at most. That is the entire commitment, and it is what a natural stone charges for taking a hot pan without flinching.

What Colours Go With Gray Honda Granite?

A grounding counter that leaves the lifting to the room above it.

There is no warmth in mid-dark gray to work around, so it will sit under almost any cabinet colour without clashing.

White and off-white cabinetry gives the sharpest contrast, and the fine grain stops the join looking as stark as a solid black counter would.

Timber softens the whole thing. Oak or light walnut over charcoal reads warm rather than severe, which suits a home better than an all-gray scheme usually does.

The trap is dark above and dark below. Charcoal counters under navy or dark gray doors shut a room down quickly, and a small condo kitchen feels it fastest. Does a dark counter show dust and fingerprints?
